Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They began as a small machine shop initially employing 4 individuals. Sales for their first year of operation totaled sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and different components. During 5 years of operation, the company had expanded to forty staff and their annual sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is among the leading worldwide manufacturers in the material handling trade.
Manufacture and design of the company's first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business possibilities. Over the past sixty years, the material handling trade has matured into a very advanced field and Cascade has proudly played a part in this progress. Cascade presently continues to develop as the leader provider of lift truck attachments and various associated products. The business feels assured in their ability so as to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's requirements in the future and remaining competitive in the international market.
During the 1950's, Cascade began to manufacture, design, and advertise its hydraulic attachments. A brand new facility was made in 1956, in order to accommodate all of the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's present head office. Following 15 years of business, total staff reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached nearly two million three hundred thousand dollars.
1959 in Springfield, Ohio the next production facility was built. The year 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the international world of the material handling industry when the company recognized interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In the year 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the company went public with an initial offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Ever since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities within the continental US to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are manufactured globally thanks to a lot of subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This plant is designed to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and the year 1997 with the dramatic acquisition of 5 firms, including the international best in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
