Carriages and Carriage Parts - There are actually 4 sizings of hook type tine carriages rated by the fork carriage hoisting capacity. Hook type tine carriages have been uniform.
Class I carriages are rated for cargo as much as 2000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing used for Class I is 13 inches. Class II carriages are rated for cargo up to 5,550 lbs. Their carriage bar spacing is sixteen inches. Class III carriages are rated for loads as much as 10,000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this particular class is twenty inches. Class IV carriages are rated for loads up to 15,500 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this capacity is 25 inches.
The carriages for pin type forks could be different depending on the manufacturer. Pin mounted tines may vary by the amount of offset between the tine eye and the blade. Carriage capacity would be established by the carriage pin size and by the tine size.
